Self Esteem For Children

You start off in this life as a beautiful explosion of sparkly light and colour.  When the sparkles settle they fuse together and become a beautiful ball of shiny energy.  This ball is full of light and love, because your creation is such a delightfully positive thing.  The energy that comes from this ball is positive vibrant joyful energy and then you start to grow inside your mummy’s tummy and as you grow so does your beautiful, positive, vibrant, ball of positive energy. You are so full of love and joy.  When you are born you are already full of love and joy and positive energy.  This is what I call Self Esteem.

Your ball of pure light, love and joy, stays with you.  It never leaves you and nobody can take it away. Sometimes, when we start to grow up it feels like our precious ball has got lost and as we get a bit older we can even forget that it was ever there. In fact lots of children deny ever having had a ball of positve energy, love, and joy, especially if they feel sad or angry or even scared.

When we feel sad, angry or scared, our ball of pure light and love feels smaller and smaller, like it’s hiding and we forget about our light and our love and our joy. All our positive energy turns to negative energy, but  it’s really simple to find our ball of positive energy, light and love again if we really want to.

All we have to do to find it is to remember it.  Close your eyes for a few minutes and remember a time when you were really really happy. So happy, it felt like there was a great big smile coming up from your tummy pouring out onto your face. It will be a time when you felt tingly inside and maybe even fluttery butterflies were there too.  It will be a time when you had lots of energy  and were doing something you really wanted to do.

Just remember how you felt and that will be enough to bring your beautiful vibrant ball of light and love back into your memory.
